Chase Elliott is proving his worth on the track in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season with historic stats that include 11 top-10 finishes in the first 15 races of his first full season, including a runner-up finish June 12 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, but he’s also showing his worth off the track.
Elliott recently was named one of the 50 most marketable athletes in the world by SportsPro Media. He actually first appeared on the list last year, even though he only ran a partial Sprint Cup Series schedule while still running full-time in the Xfinity Series.
“Still only 20, he has healthy crossover appeal, appearing multiple times on the cover of a number of NASCAR publications,” Elliott’s entry on the list said. “And he looks set to be the poster point of stock car racing for years to come.”
The list is compiled based on athletes’ marketing potential over a three-year period. Other athletes on the list include NFL player Cam Newton, NBA player Stephen Curry, and track and field star Usain Bolt.
