Bobby Pierce impressed race fans who weren’t familiar with him earlier this season when he climbed into the No. 63 Ford of MB Motorsports earlier this season at the dirt track of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, for his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut and won the pole for the series’ only dirt race of the year and drove to a runner-up finish in the main event. As a result of his performance at Eldora, MB Motorsports will give Pierce another shot at Truck Series competition, putting him back behind the wheel of its No. 63 for Saturday’s race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.
“We’re excited about it,” truck owner Mike Mittler told Catchfence.com. “He did such a great job at Eldora and then ran that Late Model car at Hickory (Motor Speedway at Hickory, N.C.) and ran really good there. He’s excited, we’re excited to get him back in the seat and further his career in the next step of asphalt racing.”
