Cassie Gannis hopes to make her NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in her hometown of Phoenix on Friday night, driving the No. 74 entry of Mike Harmon Racing in the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. The Phoenix race is the second-to-last race of the 2015 Camping World Truck Series season, with the season coming to a close Nov. 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Gannis is a graduate of the Lyn St. James Driving Academy and has competed in NASCAR’s K&N West Series, one of NASCAR’s regional touring divisions, as well as raced a Super Late Model in NASCAR-sanctioned races at Tucson Speedway. She was named Most Popular Driver in K&N Series West racing in 2012, despite competing in only five races that season. In all, she has eight-career starts in K&N West competition. Gannis also has raced at other tracks throughout the western US, including Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Irwindale (Calif.) Raceway and Colorado National Speedway.
