Chris Buescher wins in Iowa

An incident involving the lapped cars of Ross Chastain and Jamie Dick with two laps to go in the 3M 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Sunday played into Chris Buescher’s hands. Buescher was able to take advantage on a green-white-checker restart and take his second-career win.

“To finally get a win on an oval,” Buescher, who claimed his first series win last year on the road course at Mid-Ohio, said. “This is amazing.”

Chase Elliott finished second after leading a race-high 114 laps. Buescher led 94 in the race that was extended to 259 laps by the green-white-checker attempt. The only other driver to lead more than two laps was Daniel Suarez, who led the opening 48 laps of the race.
