Earlier this week, NASCAR issued written warnings to four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams for issues during the Oct. 16-18 race weekend at Kansas Speedway that culminated in the Oct. 18 running of the Hollywood Casino 400. Those four teams included the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet teamof Chase for the Sprint Cup competitor Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Earnhardt’s team was warned for failing pre-race inspection on race day at Kansas. It was the second-consecutive race weekend the No. 88 team received a written warning from NASCAR.
The Kansas race weekend was also the second-straight race weekend the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford team of Ryan Blaney received written warnings. The warning from Kansas came because of a violation of section 10.7.2.b of the 2015 NASCAr rule book. According to NASCAR officials, the No. 21 team did not have mandated coveres over some of their suspension parts in the garage.
The No. 83 BK Racing Toyota team of Matt DiBenedetto and the No. 7 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet team of Alex Bowman also received warnings. Bowman’s team failed pre-race inspection twice, while DiBenedetto’s team failed pre-qualifying inspection twice on Oct. 16.
