HScott Motorsports relocates

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team HScott Motorsports announced Wednesday that it is relocating from Spartanburg, S.C., to Mooresville, N.C.

“The New HScott Motorsports headquarters in Mooresville, N.C., provides our NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams ample rook to prepare and maintain quality cars throughout the season and well into the future,” HScott owner Harry Scott Jr. said. “The move to Mooresville also allows us to better coordinate with our partners and suppliers.”

The race team’s new home in Mooresville is nearly 50,000 sq. ft. and closer to most NASCAR activities. Most race teams and racing-related businesses with NASCAR ties are located in the Charlotte, N.C., area that includes Mooresville. The only major Sprint Cup Series team not based in the Charlotte area in Furniture Row Racing that operates the No. 78 team of driver Martin Truex Jr. out of Denver, Colo.

HScott Motorsports also will have a new driver in 2016 with Clint Bowyer behind the wheel of the No. 15 Chevrolet. Bowyer will drive at HScott for one season before moving on to Stewart-Haas Racing to replace the retiring Tony Stewart in 2017. The No. 15 team at HScott is the same team that was the No. 51 through the 2015 season.

Also, Michael Annett returns to HScott to drive the No. 46 Chevrolet.
