IZOD IndyCar Series: Inside The Numbers – Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit

Some numbers to note from the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans, the sixth and seventh races of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series season.

0 – Points separating Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti in the IZOD IndyCar Series point standing after the doubleheader race.

1 – IZOD IndyCar Series victory by Simon Pagenaud and his team Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports.

2 – Drivers who finished in the top-five in each race at Detroit: Mike Conway and Scott Dixon.

2.114 – Average running position of Mike Conway in during the 140 laps of racing in the doubleheader.

– IZOD IndyCar Series wins for Dale Coyne Racing, which took three of the six podium positions available at Belle Isle…Times Helio Castroneves has held the point lead in 2013.


4 – Consecutive top-five starts for E.J. Viso…Times the IZOD IndyCar Series point lead has changed in 2013.

25 – Positions improved by Josef Newgarden during both races, the most positions gained by any driver.

42 – Laps that Graham Rahal improved his position over the 140 laps of competition, most of any driver.

78 – Laps led by Mike Conway during the two races. He was the only driver to lead both races.

203 – Consecutive Indy car starts for Tony Kanaan dating to the 2001 CART race in Portland. Kanaan is second to Jimmy Vasser’s 211 straight starts.
