When it rains it pours for NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Jamie Dick. Dick has been absent from Xfinity Series racing since March after a diabetes diagnosis. He made his return to competition at Iowa Speedway for Sunday’s 3M 250 and was promptly welcomed back by a piece of lead or tungsten from another car during the series’ first practice session at the Newton, Iowa, track on Saturday.
“All the spacers and lead started coming out,” Dick was quoted as saying in a USA Today article. “I dodged the spacers, but I didn’t dodge the lead.”
