The No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet of Jamie McMurray in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series was issued a written warning because of an inspection issue at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway before the July 2 running of the Coke Zero 400, according to the weekly penalty/warning report issued by NASCAR on Wednesday.
According to the report, the No. 1 car failed pre-race laser inspection twice on July 1. Pre-race inspection was held the day before the race, and the cars were impounded until the race on July 2.
It was the team’s second written warning.
