Jeb Burton is returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series landscape, courtesy of Biagi-BenBeste Racing. On Tuesday, the race team announced that it has a deal that will put Burton behind the wheel of its No. 98 Ford entry for the July 23 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Sept. 9 race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.
“I’m really excited to get back on the track in the Xfinity Series with Biagi-DenBeste Racing,” Burton said. “They’ve shown they have fast cars and just scored a big win at Daytona. I’m thrilled to again partner with Estes (Express Lines, sponsor). They are a great company and have been big supporters of my career.”
Aric Almirola drove the No. 98 to the win at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on July 1.
Burton started the 2016 Xfinity Series season with a full-time ride at Richard Petty Motorsports as driver of the No. 43 Ford, but RPM shuttered its Xfinity program after the first 11 races of the season because of a sponsorship issue. Burton posted one top-10 finish in those 11 races.
Burton has driven the No. 98 for Biagi-DenBeste before. He drove the car at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in 2014, finishing 15th.
