Joey Gase recognized for charitable efforts

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Joey Gase was the recipient of the inaugural Comcast Community Champion of the Year Award late last month during the joint NASCAR Camping World Truck and Xfinity series awards banquet at the Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Fla. The award was presented by Comcast, the parent company of the title sponsor of the Xfinity Series. In Gase’s honor a $60,000 donation was made to Iowa Donor Network.

“I’m so thankful to Comcast for creating the Comcast Community Champion of the Year Award and recognizing so many great charities,” Gase said. “To be able to promote organ donation at a higher level by winning this ward really means a lot to me, the 120,000 people that are on the wait list right now, and all those people who are donors and their loved ones.”
