JR Motorsports truck team penalized

On Tuesday, NASCAR announced penalties for the No. 00 JR Motorsports Chevrolet team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series after the truck failed post-race inspection at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 15.

The truck didn’t meet the minimum post-race slitter height after the race, a rules infraction that NASCAR deemed to be at the P2 level of its scale. Because of the infraction, crew chief Joe Shear Jr. was fined $6,000 and placed on probation through the end of the year. In addition, team owner Dale Earnahrdt Jr. was docked 10 championship owner points.
