NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers/teams rolling out special paint schemes for the yearly Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but for this year’s exhibition event, scheduled for May 21, reigning Sprint Cup champion Kyle Busch and his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team are rolling out a new number for one race only. On May 21 at CMS, the car that usually carries the No. 18 will be numbered 75 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of primary sponsor M&Ms.
“We’ve had fun all season celebrating M&Ms’ birthday with our fans/ there has been a lot to celebrate since their big year comes right after our incredible championship,” Busch said. “For us, the best part has been reading our fans’ favorite M&Ms racing memories, and hopefully, with our success so far this season, we’ve been able to make a few more.”
M&Ms has been running a special promation this season that it plans to continue throughout the remainder of the year, giving fans opportunities to win Busch M&Ms gear by tweeting their favorite M&Ms Racing memories, along with the hashtags #MMS75 and #contest on the 75th lap of each Sprint Cup Series race.
So far, Busch has a series-leading three Sprint Cup wins in 2016. His latest win came in the most recent race on the schedule — the GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas Speedway near Kansas City, Kan., on May 7.
The Sprint All-Star Race is scheduled to take the green flag at approximately 9 p.m. next Saturday.
