Kyle Busch returned to his hometown of Las Vegas this weekend for the NASCAR Las Vegas Motor Speedway doubleheader that included Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 Xfinity Series race. He put on a dominating performance at his home track in the Xfinity event, leading all but one lap of the 200-lap race en route to his first series win at LVMS. The only lap not led by Busch, lap 55, was led by Darrell Wallace Jr. during the first of two cycles of green-flag pit stop.
“Certainly, it was really cool to have the opportunity to win here,” Busch said. “I’ve had many opportunities in the past or have come up short and haven’t quite had the day we’ve needed to get it done. Today, this weekend with Chris Gayle (crew chief) and everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing, they’ve been building some really good stuff. JGR Engines are fast as well.”
