Kyle Busch led just over half of the Furious 7 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Chicogoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., on Saturday evening, leading 102 laps of the 200 that made up the race on his way to his fourth Xfinity Series win of the 2015 season and the 74th of his career. But after the race, his car failed post-race inspection. According to an announcement by NASCAR soon after the race, Busch’s No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota failed to meet minimum height requirements. Penalties for the rules infraction are expected to be announced Tuesday or Wednesday.
Busch led a dominating performance by JGR. Teammate Matt Kenseth led 84 laps on his way to a runner-up finish, and he and Busch ran first and second through most of the race after starting the event on the front row. The Gibbs team started the race with cars in the top-three, with a third driver, Daniel Suarez, starting third and running in the top-five throughout the race. He led two laps of his own before finishing just outside the top-five in sixth.
