Mason Mingus to make Xfinity debut at Chicagoland

Mason Mingus plans to make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. He’ll be behind the wheel of the No. 97 Chevrolet for Obaika Racing and will have John Monsam as his crew chief. If Mingus qualified for Saturday’s Xfinity race, the Chicagoland race weekend will be double-duty weekend for Mingus. As a regular in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, he’ll race in that series at the track Friday night.

“This was an arrangement that came together very quickly, but I’m really excited about making my Xfinity Series debut,” Mingus said. “I drove for Kevin Cywinski (Obaika Racing General Manager) at Win-Tron Racing last year and enjoyed working with him, so I jumped at the opportunity when called.”
