Modified Richmond schedule doesn’t include Xfinity qualifying

Rain and severe weather prevented competitors in the NASCAR Xfinity Series from getting on-track at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in Friday in preparation for Saturday’s ToyotaCare 250 at the track. Two practice sessions scheduled for Friday were the only practice sessions originally scheduled for the series at RIR. As a result, NASCAR modified Saturday’s schedule, replacing pole qualifying with a practice session at 9 a.m. ET. More rain is in the area forecast for Saturday morning but is expected to move out of the area in time for racing.
As the second race in the four-race Dash 4 Cash program, the ToyotaCare 250 will have a two-heat and main format. The first heat is scheduled to take the green flag at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, with the second heat scheduled for an approximate 1:10 p.m. start. The main event is expected to take the green flag around 1:45 p.m. Both heats and the main will be shown live on FOX Sports 1.
