NASCAR crew chief’s daughter killed in auto accident

By AMANDA VINCENT

Stephanie Rembert, daughter of BK Racing crew chief, Joe Williams, died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the Seagrove community of Randolph County, N.C., on Dec. 19, according to a report from FOX Channel 8.

Rembert’s Toyota Tundra ran off Burney Road and struck a tree. With critical injuries, she was airlifted to an area hospital, where she died. According to Master Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Knox, investigators do not believe she was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the accident but speed may have been.

Rembert’s two children, both under the age of 10, were in the vehicle. They were treated for minor injuries.

Rembert’s father, Williams, is the crew chief for the No. 23 BK Racing Toyota in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
