NASCAR Cup: Bank of America 500 start time changed

By AMANDA VINCENT

NASCAR has moved the start time of Sunday’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway up and hour, from an originally schedule 2 p.m. ET start to 1 p.m. ET, in an effort to beat rain that is in Sunday’s forecast. The race still will be shown live on NBC.

The weekend forecast for Concord, N.C., in which CMS is located, includes rain for both Saturday and Sunday. Final practice for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series was moved up 30 minutes on Saturday because of rain that also forced the cancellation of an earlier Cup Series practice session and Xfinity Series qualifying.

The NASCAR Xfinity also is expected to race at Charlotte on Saturday. For now, that race is still scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 3 p.m. ET and will be shown live on the NBC Sports Network.
