NASCAR Cup: Champion’s Week agenda released

As in recent years past, NASCAR will honor its 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion in Las Vegas with a three-day celebration of the 2017 season culminating the the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards ceremony Nov. 30 at The Wynn. The ceremony will be shown on NBCSN, with coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

This year’s Champion’s Week festivities will include a tribute to retiring Dale Earnhardt Jr. at The Cosmopolitan on Nov. 28. Proceeds from the event will benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The traditional NASCAR Victory Lap on Las Vegas Blvd. that features burnouts by the playoff drivers is scheduled for Nov. 29. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and NASCAR.com will cover the event.

The yearly After the Lap event will follow, also on Nov. 29, at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan and feature the 16 playoff drivers and a concert by country music star Lee Brice. Proceeds from After the Lap will benefit the Vegas Strong Fund.

Throughout the three days of festivities, displays included the cars of the 16 playoff drivers will be available for viewing at NASCAR Fan HQ at the Park between New York-New York, Monte Carlo and T-Mobile Arena. NASCAR Fan HQ also will include NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus and a Fanatics shop of NASCAR merchandise and play host to driver autograph sessions.

Other events open to fans include a special edition of MRN’s NASCAR Live on Nov. 28 and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s Claire B. Lang’s Championship Year in Review show on Nov. 30.

The NMPA Myers Brothers Awards ceremony has a new home for 2017, as it is scheduled for Nov. 29 in the Encore Theatre at Wynn. Awards presented during the event include the Buddy Shuman Award and the NMPA Myers Brothers Award.
The event will be live-streamed on NASCAR.com.
