NASCAR Cup: Father of Robby Gordon found dead

By AMANDA VINCENT
The bodies of Robert Gordon, the father of former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, and the elder Gordon’s wife, Sharon Gordon, were discovered Wednesday afternoon in an Orange, Calif., house owned by Robby Gordon.
Robert Gordon, age 68, and Sharon Gordon, 57, are thought by police to have been killed in a murder-suicide situation. The incident is under investigation, and local police told a local NBC-TV affiliate that a weapon was found in the house.
According to local newspaper, the Orange County Register, a 911 call was received at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday saying two bodies were found in the home.
Robby Gordon made 396-career starts in NASCAR’s premier series between 1991 and 2012. He won three races. He also competed in the now-defunct Champ Car Series and competed in 10 Indianapolis 500s. He now competes in and owns the Stadium Super Truck Series.
