On Wednesday, Hendrick Motorsports revealed modified Justice League-themed paint schemes for its No. 5 and No. 88 Chevrolets to be driven by Kasey Kahne and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth on Sunday.

The team first released special paint schemes for the cars Tuesday, but those schemes weren’t approved by NASCAR because each car had two different sides. NASCAR rules mandate that a car’s paint scheme is the same on both sides.

“Both (left-hand side) and (right-hand side) of the vehicle must emulate each other in all colors, markings and graphics,” reads the NASCAR rule book. “Vehicles with a longitudinal centerline split in appearance extending from front bumper to rear bumper will not be permitted.”

Earnhardt’s updated paint scheme features Batman on the hood and Cyborg on each side, while Kahne’s paint scheme features Wonder Woman on the hood and The Flash on the sides.

The paint schemes promote the Justice League movie that is scheduled for a Nov. 17 release.
