Fourteen Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams, more than a third of the race field for Sunday’s ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, will be docked time in final practice at NHMS on Saturday because of inspection issues either before qualifying at New Hampshire on Friday or a week earlier at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. The final 50-minute practice session is scheduled to take the green flag at 11:30 a.m. ET Saturday. It will be the second session of the day and third, overall, of the Loudon race weekend.

Joey Logano’s No. 22 Team Penske Ford team will lose the entire 50 minutes of practice as a result of failing pre-qualifying inspection four times Friday. Because his team had so much trouble getting through inspection Friday, Logano failed to make a qualifying attempt Friday evening and will start the race last.

The No. 77 and No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota teams of Erik Jones and Martin Truex Jr., along with the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team of Daniel Suarez and the No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet team of Jamie McMurray will lose 30 minutes of final practice.

Truex and McMurray were penalized for failing pre-race inspection three times each prior to last Sunday’s Nickelodeon Tales of the Turtles 400 at Chicagoland. The teams of Suarez and Jones were penalized for twice failing pre-race inspection and Chicagoland and then twice failing pre-qualifying inspection at New Hampshire.

Truex won the Chicagoland race by a sizable margin over runner-up Chase Elliott.

Teams losing 15 minutes in final practice at NHMS on Saturday after twice failing pre-qualifying inspection Friday include the No. 4 and No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford teams of Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick, the No. 9 and No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet teams of Elliott and Jimmie Johnson, the No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet team of Ryan Newman, the No. 13 Germain Racing team of Ty Dillon, the No. 23 BK Racing Toyota team of Corey LaJoie, the No. 32 Go FAS Racing Ford team of Matt DiBenedetto and the No. 38 Furniture Row Racing Ford team of David Ragan.
