When the green flag waves on the Hollywood Casino 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway near Kansas City on Sunday, it’ll mark milestones for Kasey Kahne and Matt DiBenedetto. Sunday’s race will be the 500th-career Cup Series race for Kahne and the 100th for DiBenedetto.

Kahne is in his final season as driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. In 2018, he’s slated to make the move to Leavine Family Racing to replace Michael McDowell behind the wheel of the No. 95 Chevy.

Kahne has been a fixture in the Cup Series since 2004. Before joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, he drove for teams including Evernham Motorsports, Richard Petty Motorsports and Red Bull Racing. The 2004 Cup Series Rookie of the Year has 18 wins, 92 top-fives and 175 top-10 finishes in his first 499 starts.

Kahne made the 2017 playoffs, courtesy of his win in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but he was eliminated in the first round.

DiBenedetto, driver of the No. 32 Go FAS Racing Ford, is in his third full season of competition in the Cup Series, his first with Go FAS Racing. He spent his first two years in the series with BK Racing. DiBenedetto has three-career top-10 finishes, the most recent two coming this year. His best career finish, to date, was a sixth at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway last season.
