NASCAR released its weekly penalty announcement on Wednesday, outlining penalties from violations committed during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series/Xfinity Series race weekend at Auto Club Speedway that culminated in the March 18 running of the Auto Club 400 Cup Series race in Fontana, Calif.
Two crew chiefs were fined — one each in the Cup Series and Xfinity Series — for missing or loose lug nuts. Adam Stevens, crew chief on Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 team of Kyle Busch in the Cup Series was fined $10,000, while another JGR crew chief, Eric Phillips from the No. 18 team in the Xfinity Series, was fined $5,000. Ryan Preece drove the No. 18 in the Xfinity Series race at Auto Club Speedway.
