Leavine Family Racing announced that Travis Mack will be the crew chief of the No. 95 Chevrolet to be driven by Kasey Kahne next season. It will be Mack’s first gig as a regular crew chief in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

“As crew chief, Travis brings leadership and a solid experience to Leavine Family Racing,” Leavine Family Racing Vice President and General Manager Jeremy Lange said. “His passion for racing and desire to win will fit well in our organization and, collectively, we all are looking forward to 2018 and beyond.”

Mack is the car chief on the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports team of Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Cup Series. He has one race of Cup Series crew chief experience, as he was the fill-in crew chief on the No. 88 team at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway last month when regular crew chief, Greg Ives, served a suspension for a lug nut violation the previous race.

Kahne also will move from Hendrick Motorsports to Leavine Family Racing next season, replacing the team’s current driver, Michael McDowell, behind the wheel of the No. 95 after Kahne’s release from HMS.

Mack has been with HMS since 2004. In the time since, he’s also worked as a car chief for JR Motorsports, the NASCAR Xfinity Series team co-owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick.

Mack will finish 2017 in his position as No. 88 car chief.

Todd Parrott was crew chief on the No. 95 team most of the 2017 season but was released him from the team earlier this month. Jon Leonard is serving as crew chief for McDowell for the remainder of the season on an interim basis.
