Nearly half — 19 to be exact — of the 40 drivers/teams expected to start the Bank of America 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Sunday will be docked time in final practice Saturday because of inspection issues, either last weekend at Dover (Del.) International Speedway or in pre-qualifying inspection Friday at Charlotte.

The No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet team of Jamie McMurray; the No. 5, No. 24 and No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet teams of Kasey Kahne, Chase Elliott and Dale Earnhardt Jr.; the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford team of Trevor Bayne; the No. 32 Go FAS Racing Ford team of Matt DiBenedetto; and the No. 77 and No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota teams of Erik Jones and Martin Truex Jr. will lose 30 minutes of practice time.

Drivers/teams docked 15 minutes in final practice include the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet team of Austin Dillon; the No. 4, No. 10 and No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford teams of Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Clint Bowyer; the No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford team of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.; the No. 18 and No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota teams of Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez; the No. 55 Premium Motorsports Toyota team of Gray Gaulding; the No. 37 JTG-Daugherty Racing Chevrolet team of Chris Buescher; the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team of Jimmie Johnson; and the No. 95 Leavine Family Racing Chevrolet team of Michael McDowell.

The 50-minute final practice session is expected to start at 1 p.m. ET Saturday. Final practice originally was scheduled to start 30 minutes later, but was rescheduled as a result of rain in the forecast.
