NASCAR Cup: teams docked practice time at Dover International Speedway

By AMANDA VINCENT

Monster Energy NASCAR playoff drivers Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth are among the five drivers/teams penalized time in Saturday’s final practice session at Dover (Del.) International Speedway ahead of Sunday’s Apache Warrior 400, the first elimination race of the 2017 playoffs.

Kahne’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team and Kenseth’s No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team, along with the No. 88 HMS Chevrolet team of Dale Earnhardt Jr. the No. 15 Premium Motorsports Chevrolet team of Ross Chastain and the No. 83 BK Racing Toyota team of Brett Moffitt,  will be docked 15 minutes in final practice because their cars twice failed pre-race inspections before the ISM Connect 300 on Sept 24 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

Final practice at Dover is scheduled to take the green flag at 1 p.m. ET Saturday.
