NASCAR Cup: Three teams receive warnings during Martinsville Speedway weekend
By AMANDA VINCENT
NASCAR handed out written warnings to three Sprint Cup Series teams as a result of inspection issues during the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway race weekend that culminated in Sunday’s running of the Goody’s Fast Relief 500. The Camping World Truck Series also raced at Martinsville last weekend, but none of the teams in that series were issued warnings.
The No. 93 BK Racing Toyota team that had Matt DiBenedetto as its driver, as DiBenedetto moved over to the No. 93 for Martinsville while Dylan Lupton drove the No. 83 normally driven by DiBenedetto, was issued a written warning and docked 15 minutes of practice time after failing pre-qualifying laser inspection three times.
The No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford team of driver Trevro Bayne received a written warning for twice failing pre-race laser inspection, and the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team of Denny Hamlin was issued a written warning for twice failing pre-qualifying template inspection.
