NASCAR has issue with Stewart-Haas Racing radiator inlets

By AMANDA VINCENT

All four Stewart-Haas Racing entries — the No. 4 of Kevin Harvick, the No. 10 of Danica Patrick, the No. 14 of Tony Stewart and the No. 41 of Kurt Busch — had an issue with radiator inlets during pre-qualifying inspection Saturday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. All four teams were required to change out the questionable part before qualifying.

Penalties, if any, are expected to be announced Tuesday or Wednesday. Harvick and Busch are Chase for the Sprint Cup competitors. With the Talladega being the sixth race of the Chase, making it an elimination race, penalties could immediately determine their advancement to the third (Eliminator) round of the Chase. As a result, any possible appeal of penalties would be expedited to be completed before the Nov. 1 race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.
