Several Las Vegas-native NASCAR drivers, along with a NASCAR broadcaster, have banded together to raise money victims of the Oct. 1 mass shooting at a county music festival in Las Vegas and their families.

The effort was organized by Xfinity Series driver Spencer Gallagher and includes efforts by Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch, Xfinity Series driver Brendan Gaughan, Camping World Truck Series driver Noah Gragson and NASCAR on FOX’s Jamie Little.

“Like most Americans, I was devastated to hear about Sunday’s tragic events in my hometown,” Kyle Busch said. “As a group of racers from Las Vegas, we wanted to find a way for ourselves, along with our race fans, to help the victims and families of this unthinkable act.”

Also, Las Vegas-based Zappos has committed to matching funs raised, up to $1 milliion.

Donations are being accepted on CrowRise.com (https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/team/supportlasvegas). Also, the group has set up DriversForVegas.com, where fans may purchase a shirt and/or sticker to assist in the fundraising efforts, or to make a donation. The site is expected to go live early next week.

“We are asking the NASCAR family to come together and help the great city of Las Vegas by visiting DriversForVegas.com to purchase a shirt or sticker, or simply make a donation,” Gallagher said. “Las Vegas has always been there for and supported us, and this is a great opportunity for us to give back and be there for them.”

Gaughan’s No. 62 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet will don a special #VegasStrong paint scheme during Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
