NASCAR released on Monday its 2016 schedules for two of its three national touring series — the Sprint Cup Series and the Xfinity Series. The 2016 schedule for the other national series, the Camping World Truck Series, is expected soon.
Among the changes for the Xfinity Series for next year will be the circuit’s first trip to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa. The Xfinity Series will race at Pocono for the first time on June 4, 2016, between races at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Michigan International Speedway.
The first of two Dover (Del.) International Speedway race weekends on the schedule was moved to earlier in the season. In 2016, the first Xfinity Series race at Dover will be May 15, and like in previous years, will be a companion race to the Sprint Cup Series.
