NASCAR schedule, weather outlook for Auto Club Speedway


The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity series wrap up their three-race West Coast Swings this upcoming weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., with the Xfinity Series running the 300 on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Series closing out the weekend Sunday with the running of the Auto Club 400.

Here’s a look at the weekend schedule of on-track activity (all times ET):


1:30-2:55 p.m. — Sprint Cup Series practice (FOX Sports 1)
3-4:25 p.m. — Xfinity Series practice (FOX Sports 1)
5:30-6:25 p.m. — Xfinity Series final practice (FOX Sports 1)
7:45 p.m. — Sprint Cup Series qualifying (FOX Sports 1)


11-11:55 a.m. — Sprint Cup Series practice (FOX Sports 2)
12:15 p.m. — Xfinity Series qualifying (FOX Sports 1)
2:30-3:25 p.m. — Sprint Cup Series final practice (FOX Sports 1)
4 p.m. — XFinity Series race (FOX Sports 1)


3:30 p.m. — Auto Club 400



The weather for the Auto Club Speedway NASCAR race weekend looks ideal, at least from an attending fan standpoint, with sunny skies and high temperatures in the low 80s forecasted throughout the weekend.

According to, Friday’s forecast is “sunny and warm” and the Saturday forecast on the site says “warm with plenty of sunshine.” The details of Sunday’s forecast is about as good, as it’s listed as “partly sunny and warm.” Precipitation chances are listed at zero percent all three days, while high temperatures throughout the weekend are expected to be between 80 and 81 degrees.
