NASCAR schedule, weather outlook for Dover, Las Vegas

All three NASCAR national divisions — Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck — are in action this weekend, with the Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup Series heading to Dover (Del.) International Speedway. The Xfinity Series will run the second race of its seven-race inaugural chase on Saturday, while the Sprint Cup Series will close out the Dover race weekend on Sunday with an elimination race, the third race of round one.
Meanwhile, the Truck Series heads west to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a NASCAR stand-alone race on Saturday, like the Xfinity Series, running the second race of its first-ever chase.

Showers are expected to be in the Dover, Del., aware on Friday and Saturday, with high temperatures in the 70s both days. Friday is expected to be the coolest day of the race weekend, with a projected high of 71 degrees. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach the mid-70s.
After a 55 percent chance of rain on Friday, the biggest rain chance in Dover for the weekend comes Saturday with a 69 percent chance of precipitation. For Sprint Cup race day, Sunday, the rain chance drops to 15 percent.
Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, all NASCAR race weekend on-track activity is consolidated to Saturday. The day/evening’s chance of precipitation will hover around 14 percent, as the high temperature reaches the low-90s before dipping into an overnight low of 70 degrees Saturday night.
