NASCAR schedule, weather outlook for New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway

All three of NASCAR’s national series — Monster Energy NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck  — are in action this weekend, with the Cup Series and Truck Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the UNOH 175 Truck Series race Saturday and the NHMS weekend culminating in the running of the ISM Connect 300 Cup Series race on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Xfinity Series will go night racing at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta on Saturday with the running of the 300.

The race weekend at New Hampshire actually consists of four races, with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the American Canadian Tour also taking to the track. Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series race will be a 175-lap race, made up of two 55-lap stages and a 65-lap third and final stage. Sunday’s 300-lap Cup race will be broken into two 75-lap stages and a 150-lap stages.

For the Cup Series, NHMS plays host to the second of 10 playoff races. Saturday’s Truck Series race, though, will be the kick-off of that series’ 2017 playoffs.

Saturday also will be the playoff kick-off for the Xfinity Series. The 200-lap race at Kentucky will be split into stages of 45, 45 and 110 laps and will be the second race of a two-race Kentucky Speedway weekend, as the ARCA Racing Series is scheduled to race there Friday night.
