NASCAR schedule, weather outlook for Phoenix International Raceway

By AMANDA VINCENT

The 2016 NASCAR seasons are winding down for all three national divisions — Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck. All three series head to Phoenix International Raceway for the penultimate races. The Truck Series races first, running the Lucas Oil 150 on Friday night.  The Xfinity Series races Saturday in the Ticket Galaxy 200, and the Sprint Cup Series closes out the weekend with Sunday’s running of the Can-Am 500.

With their respective checkered flags during the PIR weekend, each series will whittle its chase field down to four for the Ford Championship Weekend that will close out the 2016 racing season next weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
