NASCAR team owner in hot water over horse issue

ThorSport Farm, owned by NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team owner Duke Thorson, was investigated by the Humane Society of the United States and that investigation uncovered soring, according to a report from The Tennessean.

Soring in the walking horse industry is the use of chemicals on the feet of the horses that force the horses to step higher. It’s an illegal practice. The practice at the Murfreesboro, Ten., horse farm was discovered by a hidden camera investigation by the Humane Society.

“We found rampant soring of horses, that trainers involved with this stable knew exactly what they were doing,” Humane Society President and CEO Wayne Pacelle told The Tennessean.
