Austin Cindric will embark on his first full-time season of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition in 2017, driving a Ford for Brad Keselowski Racing.
“This is a massive opportunity from Brad and everyone at BKR who trust me and believe in my ability as a driver to move on to the next level for a full season,” Cindric said. “The number one thing is, you’ve got to get results on the race track, and that’s something that BKR has done consistently year after year. One of the things I’ve learned in my short career is that it’s all about people. You must have good equipment, but you can’t have success without good people, and they definitely have that.”
Cindric has made six-career starts in the Truck Series over the course of the last two seasons, all for BKR. His best career finish, to date, was a 14th-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway in 2015. It just so happens, his best finish of the 2016 season came a week ago, also at PIR, where he finished 15th.
“One of the things we wanted to do at BKR is give talented young drivers an opportunity to take the next step in their career,” team owner Brad Keselowski said. “Austin Cindric has already had success in various forms of racing, and he has shown a lot of potential in our truck. We’re happy to give him an opportunity to compete full-time at a high level in NASCAR next season.”
Brad Keselowski fielded two trucks full-time in 2016 for Tyler Reddick and Daniel Hemric. Reddick is moving on to Chip Ganassi Racing in 2017 to run a partial schedule in the Xfinity Series. Hemric also is making the move to the Xfinity Series next year to drive full-time for Richard Childress Racing.
