Cale Gale will return to NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition for the Oct. 28 race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, courtesy of a one-race deal with MDM Motorsports to drive the No. 99 Chevrolet.

“I was stunned when I was approached about this late last week,” Gale said on social media. “I want to thank my employer Roush Fenway Racing for allowing me to go compete. I haven’t made a start in the Truck Series since the end of the 2013 season. I’m humbled and blessed beyond words. I look forward to going out there and driving the tires off it possibly one last time possibly not. But I will driver every lap like it’s my last. Thank you to everyone who has helped me and supported me through the years.”

Gale is a former Kevin Harvick Inc. developmental driver. He made 35-career starts in the Truck Series between 2007 and 2013 and won one series race, beating Kyle Busch in the 2012 season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He also has three top-fives and 12 top-10 finishes in those 35 starts.

Gale also has to his credit 25 races of NASCAR Xfinity Series experience, resulting in a top-five and three top-10s. He last competed in the Xfinity Series in 2009.
