NASCAR Truck: Matt Mills plans Truck Series debut at Bristol

By AMANDA VINCENT
Matt Mills plans to make his NASCAR national-level debut at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway on Aug. 17 by driving the No. 07 Chevrolet for SS Green Light Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the track.
“It’s a dream come true to be racing in NASCAR,” Mills said. I cannot thank SS Green Light Racing and Thompson Electric (sponsor) enough for the opportunity to drive the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado. Bristol is a bucket-list track for any race fan, let alone race car driver. Making my debut at such a historic race track is going to be really special.”
A press release from SS Green Light Racing in June, announcing Mills’ hiring by the race team said Mills would drive the No. 07 for the team in select races throughout the remainder of the 2016 season. Specific races beyond Bristol have not been announced.
“We’re excited to have a talented driver like Matt, who is full of potential, to join our organization,” SS Green Light Racing co-owner Bobby Dotter said. “We’ve heard a lot of positive things about Matt and look forward to working with him this season.”
Mills is an accomplished Late Model racer from Ohio and raced a partial schedule on the JEGS/CRA All-Stars tour last season.
