NASCAR Truck: Patrick Emerling plans series debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

By AMANDA VINCENT

Patrick Emerling plans to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut Saturday in the UNOH 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway from behind the wheel of the No. 83 Copp Motorsports Chevrolet.

“There’s always something about home that draws you back,” truck owner D.J. Copp said. “Especially in the racing community, there’s always the yearn to help someone from your home state get started. Now, all we need is a New York-based company to come on board and sponsor the No. 83 to complete the trifecta — driver, team owner and sponsor — with all the same roots. How awesome would that be?”

Emerling is an Orchard Park, N.Y., native, while Copp hails from Rochester, N.Y.

Emerling competes in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which also races at NHMS this weekend. He has 14 previous starts at New Hampshire on the Modified Tour, resulting in four top-fives and six top-10 finishes. In all, Emerling has 79-career NWMT starts, dating back to 2011. He scored his first win in the series earlier this year at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway. He has 12-career topo-fives and 32 top-10s in the series.
