Former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Rick Crawford was arrested by the Seminole County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office on March 1 and is being held without bail on federal charges of “attempted enticement of a minor,” according to a federal complaint obtained by KickinTheTires.net.
Allegedly, Crawford responded to an Internet post offering “taboo” contact with a man and his 12-year-old daughter. A preliminary and detention hearing in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida is scheduled for Thursday.
Crawford was a members of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel that hears appeals from NASCAR teams of NASCAR-issued penalties. He is not longer on the Panel, a NASCAR spokesperson has confirmed, according to a Motorsport.com article.
Crawford made 336-career starts in the Truck Series between 1997 and 2012, winning five times. He also has 75 top-fives and 160-career top-10s in the series.
