NASCAR Truck team penalized after Charlotte

The No. 30 Rette Jones Racing team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was issued a P3 penalty by NASCAR because of rules infractions during the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway race weekend that included Saturday’s running of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 Truck Series race, according to the weekly penalty announcement released by NASCAR on Tuesday. The race originally was scheduled for the previous night, but rain forced postponement of the race to midday Saturday. The same Friday rain also forced the cancellation of the qualifying session of the race. As a result, the truck’s driver for the Charlotte race, Jesse Little, was unable to make a qualifying run, and with the race field set based on practice speeds from Thursday, Little and the No. 30 team did not make the race.
