NASCAR cracked down on NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck series teams this week, as a total of eight teams were docked 15 minutes of practice time for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Michigan International Speedway race weekend.
The Truck Series is at Michigan for a Saturday race that will be a companion event to Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Alex Bowman and the No. 00 JR Motorsports team will have 15 fewer minutes of practice time to prepare for the Camping World Truck Series race, because the No. 00 fell out of the inspection line at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., the last time the series was in action on Aug. 1.
Meanwhile, seven Xfinity Series teams were penalized practice time in preparation for their race at Mid-Ohio, also scheduled for Saturday. The Mid-Ohio race is the second of three on the schedule for the Xfinity Series during the month of August.
