NASCAR Xfinity: Hermie Sadler joins TriStar for Bristol, Richmond
By AMANDA VINCENT
Hermie Sadler will compete in upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series short-track races at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway on Aug. 19 and Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on Sept. 9. He’ll drive a No. 14 entry for TriStar Motorsports and have sponsorship backing from the Virginia Lottery, according to a release from the race team.
“My relationship with the Virginia Lottery and its NASCAR fans are one of the things I am most proud of in my career,” Sadler said. “To represent them for this long, both on and off the track is a tremendous honor.”
Sadler, a NASCAR on FOX analyst, was the Xfinity (then-Busch) Series Rookie of the Year in 1993. He competed full-time in the series for six seasons and also ran most of the season in 2004. In recent years, he’s competed in two or three races per season, racing primarily in short-track events at Bristol and in his home state of Virginia. Sadler is a two-time winner in the series, winning once in 1993 and again and 1994. He is the older brother of Xfinity Series championship contender, Elliott Sadler.
