NASCAR Xfinity: Kenny Habul continues stint with JR Motorsports at Mid-Ohio

Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington will be the second of three 2016 races in which road-course racing veteran driver Kenny Habul will climb behind the wheel of the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. Habul is slated to drive the car in the three road-course races this season, beginning his stint in the car Aug. 6 at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International. He’ll also drive the car Aug. 27 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.
SunEnergy1, of which Habul is founder and CEO, was the sponsor on the car at The Glen and also will be primary sponsor at Mid-Ohio and Road America.
At Watkins Glen, his debut with JR Motorsports, Habul started 23rd and finished 17th. While he is new to JRM, Habul has been a fixture in Xfinity Series road-course races in recent years, running all three yearly road-course races each year since 2012. In all, he has 13-career starts in the series.
“Last weekend, we had a good race at Watkins Glen, and I am looking forward to building upon that this weekend at Mid-Ohio,” Habul said. “This JR Motorsports team has worked hard on these road-course cars, and I am confident we will unload fast on Friday.”
Last season, Habul ran the three road-course races for Joe Gibbs Racing. He finished 28th, last year, at Mid-Ohio.
