NASCAR released its weekly penalty announcement Wednesday to announce penalties from rules infractions committed during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup and Xfinity series weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., that included the Oct. 7 Drive for the Cure 300 Xfinity Series race and the Bank of America 500 Cup Series race on Oct. 8. Those penalties included suspensions of two Xfinity Series crew chiefs.

Chris Rice, crew chief on the No. 11 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet team of Blake Koch, and Matthew Beckman, crew chief on the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team of Matt Tifft, were each fined $10,000 and suspended from the next race, because their cars didn’t meet front-end height requirements in post race inspections after Saturday night’s Xfinity race. Also, both teams and both drivers lost 10 points.

In the Cup Series, Scott Graves, crew chief on the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team of Daniel Suarez was fined $10,000, because the No. 19 car had one lug nut loose or missing in post-race inspection.

Also announced in the weekly penalty report was the indefinite suspension of Dennis O’Connor for violation of NASCAR’s substance abuse policy. Meanwhile, Reid T. Ferguson was reinstated after successful completion of the Road to Recovery Program, following an indefinite suspension stemming from a substance abuse violation.
