Stewart-Haas Racing and Biagi-DenBeste Racing will combined their NASCAR Xfinity Series efforts for 2018 and will race under the Stewart-Haas Racing with Biage-DenBeste Racing banner.

“We’re always looking to improve our performance and find ways to make our teams more efficient,” Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner Tony Stewart said. “While we’ve been in NASCAR for nine years, this was our first year in the Xfinity Series. Partnering with Biagi-DenBeste Racing gives our Xfinity Series program added depth as we prepare for next season.”

Cole Custer will continue as driver of the No. 00 Ford under the new partnership, while SHR’s No. 41 team that has competed part-time for SHR with Kevin Harvick as driver will become the No. 98 team. Biagi-DenBeste already runs the No. 98. Harvick will drive the car part-time, again, next year.

“Racing is our passion and to ensure our presence in this sport for years to come, it made sense to partner with an established team that also fields entries in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series,” Biagi-DenBeste Racing co-owner Fred Biagi said. “We look forward to competing for wins and defending our victory at Talladega.”

Biagi-DenBeste Racing has competed in the Xfinity Series since 2001 and has three wins, most recently with Aric Almirola as driver of the No. 98 in May 2017 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

The 2017 season is SHR’s first in the Xfinity Series. In his first full season of competition in the series, Custer made the series playoffs and is among the eight drivers still in contention for a championship in the second round. He has five top-fives and 16 top-10s in 30 races, so far, this season.
