Tony Mrakovich plans to make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol (Ten.) Motor speedway on Saturday from behind the wheel of the No. 28 JGL Racing Ford. Mrakovich’s debut at Bristol is expected to be his first of two starts in two-straight Xfinity Series races, as he also expects to drive the car April 20 at Richmond (Va.) Raceway.

“This is one of the toughest tracks on the circuit,” Mrakovich said of Bristol. “Some of the sport’s most prestigious names have gone to victory lane here, so if you can have a good day at Bristol, you’ve accomplished quite a feat. I’m so thankful for Extreme Energy’s support on this journey and for the opportunity to run my first Xfinity race with JGL Racing.”

Mrakovich has made four starts in the ARCA Racing Series between 2017 and 2018, most recently running the 2018 season-opening race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February. He failed to finish that race because of an engine problem. His best ARCA finish, to date, was 10th at Salem (Ind.) Speedway last year.

“Tony is a talented young driver with a lot of potential and we’re looking forward to giving him the opportunity to compete in his first Xfinity race,” JGL Racing owner James Whitener said.
