Tyler Reddick will drive for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2018, according to an announcement from JRM on Wednesday. He’ll join current JR Motorsports drivers Justin Allgaier, Michael Annett and Elliott Sadler on the team next year. Reddick will replace William Byron, who is making the move to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series to drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2018.

“This is an amazing opportunity for me,” Reddick said. “Having the chance to race full-time with an organization like JR Motorsports is something I’ve worked toward my entire life. It’s a thrill to be joining such an accomplished group of teammates in going after a championship next year.”

This season, Reddick is competing part-time in the Xfinity Series, sharing the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet with Cup Series regular Kyle Larson. He has made 14 starts in the Xfinity Series this season, resulting in one top-five (a third at Iowa Speedway) and three top-10 finishes.

Reddick competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series between 2013 and 2016, running full-time in the series in 2015 and 2016. He finished second in the series standings in 2015. In 62-career starts in the Truck Series, Reddick had three wins, 25 top-fives and 40 top-10 finishes.

“Tyler is a very talented racecar driver and someone we’ve enjoyed watching over the years,” JR Motorsports general manager Kelley Earnhardt Miller said.  “We’ve seen him make a lot of strides in the short time he’s been in the Xfinity Series. He’s a strong complement to our driver lineup next season, and we’re confident that with consistent seat time he’ll find additional success at this level.”
